How school staff talk with youth with intellectual/developmental disabilities (IDD) and their families about transfer of rights, guardianship, and alternatives to guardianship

The Institute for Community Inclusion at the University of Massachusetts Boston is working with the Self-Advocacy Association of New York State (SANYS) and Massachusetts Advocates Standing Strong (MASS). We are doing research to understand how school staff talk with youth with intellectual/developmental disabilities (IDD) and their families about transfer of rights, guardianship, and alternatives to guardianship.

We want to conduct interviews over Zoom with special educators, youth with IDD and their family members in New York and in Massachusetts.

Please see attached flyers for more information.
